David Choe, a graffiti artist who painted the graffiti murals for Facebook’s headquarters in Palo Alto, California, is now worth $200 Million.

In 2005, Choe was approached by Mark Zuckerberg to paint murals on the walls of Facebook’s first office.

When the project was finished, he was paid in shares instead of cash and those shares are now worth $200 million. Now his paintings were cut from the walls on the office and distributed to all the Facebook offices around the world.

This was quoted from his blog:

“Have you had the dream where you ARE this guy?!? And then some kind of happy accident happens, and as you’re in the middle of this glorious car crash you stop to realize that there is actually no such thing as an accident, and no chance encounters, and that everything has a direct purpose? [...] then I get up and see my picture on the cover of the New York Times and I find out that I’m the most highest paid decorator alive”.

This Light cathedral was made by Cagna Illumiations or Luminarie De Cagna from approximately 55,000 LEDs for the 2012 Ghent Light Festival. This would have been truly a sight to behold. The Italian company used Romanesque and Renaissance architecture as reference for the design of the cathedral which towers to a height of 28 meters. It good to know that the entire installation consumes only 20 Kwatt/h.
